Deutsche Bank Taps Bank of America Veteran for TMT Leadership

Ed Liu is leaving Bank of America to spearhead Deutsche Bank's global Technology, Media, and Telecommunications division. His move to the New York office in November marks a high-profile shift in the investment banking landscape, as the German lender continues its aggressive campaign to recruit senior talent for long-term growth.

Liu will report directly to Alison Harding-Jones, who oversees the bank's investment banking and capital markets operations. His departure follows a week of significant turnover at Bank of America, which recently saw the exit of co-head of investment banking Mike Joo.

This transition coincides with a broader reshuffling of talent across Wall Street. Competitors have been equally active in the hiring market; JPMorgan Chase recently recruited Amy Lissauer to lead its activism defense group, while Citigroup brought in Rohan Sen to direct coverage of the technology services sector. Deutsche Bank has declined to comment on the appointment, maintaining its focus on securing strategic leaders to bolster its investment banking presence.
