The company aims to be operationally prepared for an initial public offering by mid-2027, though management emphasized that no final decision on the exact timing or execution has been reached. BASF previously identified the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as the preferred venue for the listing of the unit, which produces seeds and pesticides.

This division currently faces intense market pressure from global rivals including Bayer, Corteva, and Syngenta. By spinning off the agricultural arm, BASF intends to streamline its portfolio and reduce overhead, forming a central component of Kamieth's mandate to overhaul the group's corporate structure.
