Suspected Insider Trading on Polymarket Targets Military Secrets

A 97.2% success rate across 152 anonymous accounts suggests a persistent leak of sensitive U.S. military intelligence. New research from the Anti-Corruption Data Collective identifies these high-stakes wallets, dubbed "Orcas," which appear to profit from non-public information before disappearing from the prediction market platform.

Suspected Insider Trading on Polymarket Targets Military Secrets

The analysis focuses on 556 "Orca" wallets that consistently place high-value, long-shot wagers in niche markets. While the broader group is highly effective, the subset of 152 wallets tied to defense and military outcomes represents a significant security concern. These accounts have collectively generated $8 million in profits, often placing large bets shortly before U.S. military actions occur.

Beyond individual profit, these trades serve as a beacon for automated bots and high-volume "Whale" investors who mirror the activity. This copycat behavior amplifies the initial signal, potentially broadcasting sensitive tactical moves to global observers. ACDC co-founder David Szakonyi noted that foreign intelligence agencies likely monitor these public blockchain ledgers to harvest actionable data. Although Polymarket maintains that it monitors for suspicious activity and cooperates with authorities, researchers argue that identity verification and stricter market limitations are necessary to prevent the platform from becoming a tool for geopolitical espionage.
